What is Sediment Art?

It’s not just a rock!

I remember “rock hunting” with my grandfather over 50 years ago.  We would explore the back country of Texas looking for artifacts (arrowheads) and the occasional agate.  Now when you are 7 years old and you have been admiring Granddad’s beautiful stone jewelry and cut and polished creations – your eyes are set on finding that agate with the cool colors and swirls.

But they look like this:

Until they are cut and polished to reveal their beautiful interiors as they catch the light!

I photograph these in various lighting and with special lenses.  I am also working on cutting and polishing raw pieces as well.  To add to this – I enjoy restoring old tools and gadgets.

I invite you to join me on this journey as I share how I create the images and all the cool things we can explore with rocks, old tools, and gadgets in general!
